Essential duties/responsibilities (this is not an exhaustive list; other duties may apply):
Responsible for day-to-day operations of the kitchen and meal preparation.
- Work with the Director of Dietary Services to determine the amount and type of food necessary to develop the daily menus based on dietary requirements for patients.
- Oversee food purchase and check inventory when delivered for accuracy and quality.
- Manage food inventory by monitoring for proper food temperature, rotating, and storing food properly to eliminate waste.
- Verify that prepared food meets the requirements for quality, quantity, and any dietary needs.
- Assist in conducting food preparation (wash, cut), cook, and provide service.
- Requisition food products, check inventory when delivered for accuracy and quality.
- Record supply usage for inventory and records.
- Supervise and provide directions for other Cooks at LWH.
Qualification requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Food handlers license.
- At least 2-3 years’ experience in food service.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Successful completion of background check.
